French businessman dies in plane crash in northern Romania

A French businessman was killed Tuesday when the small plane he was piloting crashed in a forest in northern Romania, authorities said.
Eric Rossmann, manager of a paper manufacturing plant in northern Romania, was alone in the small Polaris-type plane that he flew as a hobby.
The weather was good at the time and did not appear to be a factor in the crash, said Orest Onofrei, top government official in Suceava county, where the plane went down. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Rossmann was one of the managers of Ambro Suceava, a company owned by France's Rossmann Group.
The Mediafax news agency reported that Rossmann was 38. He was married to a Romanian woman from Suceava and had a 1-year-old daughter.
